Well the bass have thrown the curve ball this past week.
They vacated the pattern I've been fishing for awhile now and went to the thick nasty stuff..
FROGGIN N FLIPPIN TIME
After a couple of trips and the bass didnt play nicely, I went to work in the evenings putting the puzzle together and that I did..
Some Frog Action and plenty of Flippin action, found some new areas where some big ones are holding. They still don't seem to be grouped up like I'd like to find them this time of year but this year hasn't been a normal year so i'll take it.
If your gearing up to come to Guntersville then here is a list.
Duckett White Ice Terry Scroggins Rod 7'8 xx heavy
Duckett Reel 7:1 360
Sunline Froggin N Flippin Line 65lb
NetBait Paca Craw with a 1.5 oz weight
4x4 Bass Jigs Heavy Hitter on the outside grass lines
This will get the job done.
In a week they will get set up after the major transition and be ready to feed up once again.

Lake Guntersville August Is Showing OUT
Guntersville Bass Guides 256-698-6593
Lets start out saying this August has been one for the record books. Catching Bass in August is usually a grind and we have had a day or two like that this month but the others have been like April fishing, It doesn't seem to be a secert spot that is working for me but the type of spots seem to be key, and host of lures. Ok it might sound like junk fishing but its just about having the right tools for the area your fishing.
Had a few returning clients this week again and you'll recognize them if you read these weekly.
Megan was on her 3rd trip and I think she has learned a great amount just about bass fishing in her trips with me, and David is one step closer to getting moved here. HAHA
Fished a tournament Saturday with a great friend that started as a client we ended up in 2nd place with 19 lbs yea and we had a 8.03 pound largemouth that Joel caught (not may anglers can say they caught a 8 pounder in a tournament ) if you threw out the two 15 inch fish we had we would of had a great avg. lol Congrats to Jason and his partner on the W.
Here is a little more details
Shallow: Hard to beat a top water, burning a Big Spanky on top has been a fun way to catch a few. ( not only in the morning)
4x4 Swim jig 1/4 oz with a Little Spanky as the trailer (lily pads have given up a few good ones)
Flipping a B BUG in the holes of the grass.
Mid Depth: 4x4 Swim Jig with a Little Spanky swimming through the stalks of grass have been good for some big uns early has been the key on this bite.
BIG WORM NetBait's C Mac has been the go to since June hands down the best worm bite I've had.
Flippin a Big Weight and Paca Craw will get your arm jerked on when the sun is blistering out.
Deep: Yup found a few out deep this week not many but did have a big day with a 4x4 Football Jig (Kevin Hawk Signature) with Paca Craw
Have you seen whats new on my website? Look HERE (check it out on a computer) you'll see what I mean.
November Fishing is sneaking up but October is knocking on the door , get your date booked HERE
Hope this helps everyone get a few more bass in your boat.

WOW This was a week to remember big bass and great times, even on the tough days we still got some good bites, and there was days where your bait never touched the bottom and the bass was swimming off with it.. What happen on Saturday?? One can only guess but all the signs pointed to the thick grass if you didn't get them early on the grass lines with a Big NetBait worm then you needed to pull out the the Heavy Weight and Paca Craws and do some flippin the thicker the better seemed to be the deal in the heat of the day and when you came across some grass topped out with good holes in it you will need to throw your frog or a Big Spanky burning it across the top and kill it over a holes this has been good for a few bass through out the day, this August so far has been awesome I am liking the way its looking and if your wanting to get in on this action give me a call 256-698-6593
Water Temp has been hanging around 85-93 degrees and the hotter the better!

Lake Guntersville .. Nuf Said
Guntersville Bass Guides 256-698-6593
With the fish moving with the recent moon its been tricky to keep up with them or even try to out think them on where they might be going. Had gotten one clue earlier in the week that made it all make sense. These fish are hungry to the point where you better be hanging on to your rod n reel or it just might at the bottom of the lake.
We are catching quality with a few little guys mixed in and with the recent cooler days the bite for the big girls have slowed just a little. I fished with David most of the week and ended up jumping in a little wild cat on Saturday just because he is considering on moving to the lake.
If you fished Saturday you noticed the fishing wasn't as easy or as good as it was, or was it? We had to cover water to get a bite the 1st four stops of the morning didn't yield a keeper and these was spots where we caught a 5+ pounders through out the week so scraping the game plan we went shallow then deep then in-between with getting a little guy here and there. It wasn't till we pulled up to a old spot from years ago when we got in to the bigger fish we managed only four off it but they was good ones.
Taking a 1 oz weight with a Net Bait Paca Craw and flipping it in the thickest grass was where we got em , fished more with no results, now to go back to through the week we found them on top water and swimming a 4x4 jig around the grass. Did the cooler weather put them in the thicker grass? Or did the bait go there? Either way the bass moved around a lot the last 3 days and covering water was the thing to do to get a bite.
August is filling up for some flipping action and topwater so get your dates booked with me.
