No doubt this is the hottest summer we have had in a couple of years and its like the bass are loving the heat.
Some days they are thumping the bait so hard it startles you and the next day you can hardly tell you have a bite. But one thing is for sure is the big ones are biting 1st then the little guys step up to keep the action going. Been focusing on grass edges that are next to deep water and we have added a new bait this week that has helped put some fish in the boat and its the NetBait B-Bug in Green Pumpkin the NetBat C-Mac big worm is still the big fish producer and 4x4 Heavy Hitter is still getting quality bites. Water Temp is staying in the mid 80s to low 90s and the grass is topping out on the river and in some creeks the flip bite should only get better as the summer goes on.
Booking for August and if July is any indication on how good the fishing is then August should be fun..
Congratulations to these guys they each caught their personal best.
Guntersville Bass Guides 256-698-6593 The heat limited the time on the water this past week with the real feel touching 110 degrees each day. Water temp is in the low 90s and the bass just can't keep their mouths off our lures. With numbers and quality its hard to say its too hot to fish, and its not if you have the right gear. I feel that with the heat and the type of gear we have at our finger tips to help protect us from the sun and heat we can go all day long that is if we drink plenty of water. The Gear Im Talking about is ISO CHILL its made by Under Armour I've been wearing it this year and I can tell a huge difference on the way I feel during and after a Hot day on the water. Check it all out and see for yourself. The bass have been on a tear making fishing exciting with thumping strikes and aerobatic fights this is what I love about Lake Guntersville. The river grass has em and if your not probing the grass with a NetBait C-Mac worm in Green Pumpkin or a 4x4 Bass Jig tipped with a Paca Craw then you might be missing some of these Tennessee River Bass. Keeping the boat in deeper water and casting to the grass has been great for the numbers a lot of 3-4 lb fish and when your ready to wrangle something bigger we are flipping 4x4 Heavy Hitter Jig with a Paca Craw Green Pumpkin on the back, flipping it in the thick grass and holding on because they are fighting as hard as they have all year. You'll see young Blake had a great day with his father catching the fire out of them it seemed every time I got done un hooking one the other would be hooked up fighting another to the boat we had a great trip , couldn't of asked for a better day. I managed to get out late the same day to see what I could get in to and I found out real fast , had to leave them biting fished a spot for 20 mins and it was every flip and they was all grown. It was some great Bass Therapy.
Fishing is great here on Lake Guntersville and before we all know it the grass will be matted and punching and froggin will be in full effect so now is the time to book your fall fishing trip with me before all the spots are taken. October and November should be awesome like always.

Lake Guntersville has thrown a few loops to the fishing game once again this past week. How's this ........ Spawning Bass yep we discovered that we was dealing with a late or 2nd spawn of the year with bloody tails, laid on a bed, some fry guarders, and ruined white shirt knew I was pretty sure of it. After learning this the fishing became pretty easy rest of the week it was just following them out the where they wanted to do their post spawn. Our baits for the week only changed a little from last week but the area as in depth changed a bunch, NetBait C-Mac Worms in the grass on a 1/4 oz weight in 6-8 feet of water swimming it and a 4x4 Bass Jig Swim Jig in the same water depth did the trick most days, now on the the other days when it seemed they just up and left we headed to the nearby ledge and threw a 4x4 Kevin Hawk Signature Football Jig with a NetBait Paca Craw (stuck with green pumpkin on everything) and put some big uns in the boat. It Happens fast
Water temp was hanging around 83 degrees then with this heat the last few days I seen 91 degrees during a evening trip.. HOT. Hot Hot,, the grass is in great shape shad are getting in some grass areas pretty good and that will lead to some great grass fishing real soon.. Took Mike & his daughter fishing for a Daddy Daughter Fishing Adventure 1st of many! If you don't know Mike he is the owner of BoneYard BBQ in Guntersville beside the Piggly Wiggly awesome food go try some.

Bass Fishing Is a lot of fun this time of year its fast and furious at times or its steady by hitting plenty of stops in a day to get the bites. Froggin is just around the corner don't miss out. And this fall calendar is filling up don't miss your chance to reel in some Big Ole Donkeys.
I have days open to fish with you! Come and Get Your Bass On With Guntersville Bass Guides
These Kentucky Boys put the bass in the boat all day long.
We Started off with the Big Worm Net Bait C Mac 15 in Green Pumpkin to get the day started and we would have to swap it up to a 4x4 Jig with a Paca Craw as trailer to keep them going. We are finding fish still from the 12-16 feet of water with some shells.
Fishing has been great and with the recent rains the water has cooled off to 80 degress or so and the fish have not stopped feeding.
We have had some really great days fishing but this day we caught a lot I mean a lot in a short period of time. I haven't taken a photo like this one in awhile.
Main river is getting some stain to it and the current is ripping and the lake is slowly coming up.
I was proud to take this pic for them, this was their best day of fishing together.
I have days open to fish with you in July Call Me.

This past week was very Hot and hard to stay longer then 6 hours at a time on the water with air temps reaching close to 100 degrees and water temp hitting 93 on most days the Bass didn't seem to mind it at all. This week was a Big Bass Week Quality Was The Name Of The Game. We avg. 10-12 Bass Each Trip except Megan's trip it was just 3 giants and one 3 pounder. I know a lot of men who would do just about anything to catch what she had..
This week consist of business men passing through, tournament anglers, birthday boy, husband & wife, Father & Sons. This fishing is great and we are just keeping it simple, our best baits have been NetBait C-Mac worm 11 & 15 inch Texas rigged on a half ounce weight in Green Pumpkin and June Bug and a 4x4 Bass Jig in Guntersville Magic with a NetBait Paca Craw on the back, we are finding our fish in 15-20 feet of water catching 2-3 off a spot then moving to the next and repeating some spots have more then that but the big ones are the 1st ones to fire on the spots. Hard bottoms are the key to finding these big bass and Lowrance HDS units is making that part of the puzzle easy. One more tip we have scaled back in line size and its making a difference ( I think so at-least) 12-14 lb Sunline Sniper FC we are now fighting them just a little bit longer and they get to jump a few more times before we land them and the heart beats a little bit more but it is all fun.
Meet The Bantz's they came from Springfield Missouri to fish with us and the boys also known as KVD & Skeet Reese and these two can flat out catch these bass. Tegan will be one to look for in the upcoming years as he follows his dream of becoming a Professional Bass Fisherman.
Check out Bo's Catch.
Megan's Smile says it all for her 1st time to the Big G
Double Fisting!
Happy Birthday Robin Hulsey enjoyed catching these Big Ol Bass with you..
This was a short morning trip with Gary from Tennessee,
And if you see these two coming be ready to laugh till your gut hurts.
June has proved to be a great month for quality and numbers. July and August are next on the menu of something new to do and Flipping and Frogging are looking pretty darn good if you'd like to do this now is the time to get your date picked out and booked. My froggin dates are filling up as a FYI October is my Favorite Month to Frog the last two weeks are already filling up so don't miss out on this addicting method.
Have a Great 4th and eat plenty of BBQ preferably from Bone Yard BBQ the best there is.
The Fishing Has Been Great, but the heat makes it hard to do it all day.
We have been doing 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening and it has been working out great. Each 4 hour trip we have been catching 8-10 bass and losing some to go with them. I got to fish with these two young anglers from PA for 3 4 hour trips, We had a blast every trip Trey aka Seth and Tyler aka Mark. Keep an eye out for these two off the water Tyler is going off to collage to play Golf and to my understanding he can Drive the ball close to what the PGA guys are doing and Trey is going off to play Baseball and has the resume to be playing pro in a few years. And if they don't work out in the golf or baseball world they'll have Bass Fishing to fall back on!
One last thing, PLEASE DONT THROW YOUR PLASTICS IN THE WATER, THROW THEM IN THE TRASH OR SELL THEM TO COMPANIES THAT RECYCLES THEM. You will see a pic of a mag trick worm that was hanging out of a mouth of a bass no hook no line.
Email this guy he would like to buy your used plastics pj@cleanwaterlures.com
Now to the Pics
