What A Week

Where to Start?

Catching a fish is not a issue on Gville but catching the Big Ones can still cause you a HeadAche. This past week we did corporate trips to pre tournament trips just a busy week.
During the tournament practice trip we had a great time cutting up all day and locating some big uns on the Lowrance HDS's (we do offer sonar training ) and I have gotten a report from my customer and he had a hard time keeping them buttoned up still managed a great finish. (no pics where taken) to two sons taking their father fishing for his birthday and a Tournament with Eric what a great week

Had returning friends for a corp. trip for a day and half and proud to say my guys won the Big Fish for Both Days

He didn't stop after that one he hammered another stud a little later (the big one is pictured twice)
All this was on the 1st day and the 2nd day they didn't take it easy on the others.

Looking Forward to next year all ready had a blast.
This next one is a 1st for me we had 3 Jim's in one boat and a Michael and we caught them and kept on catching them I think it was a great birthday present , what do you guys think?

Yes we took a lot of pics and I wanted to share them with you all.
Most of the week the best way to catch them was on a SPRO Little John DD, 4x4 Kevin Hawk Signature Football Jig with a NetBait Paca Craw for trailer Green pumpkin, or a 11inch C Mac NetBait out on Ledges then in the Grass the good ol B Bug was still standing tall.

Now for the Tournament.
Eric and I jumped in the Guntersville Civitan Tournament without looking around or practicing we both felt that with the amount of pressure the lake is seeing it would be in our best interest to just show up and go fishing we kinda treated it like a practice day.  And with no complaints or losing a single fish we fished cleaned and had a awesome time, we cracked them on a SPRO Little JOHN and a Proto Type 4x4 bait. we had just over 23lbs and took 3rd. Yup you guessed it we hit up the King for the Whopper.

Well the camera guy might of not of been a real camera guy (sorry Eric)

With the lake being behind I see June being one of the Best Months to come, have days open to fish with you.

Lake Guntersville is still producing big bass. Best baits for this past week have been SPRO Crankbaits Little John DD and 4x4 Jigs in Kevin Hawks Football Jig the color is Hawks Prey with a NetBait Paca Craw in Green Pumpkin Red.

Been fishing 15-20ft of water just locating the bass on the my Lowrance HDS units. After locating them its been pretty easy to catching the big ones.

Guntersville Guntersville Guntersville

Been a Fun Week here on Guntersville even if it has more boats then I have ever seen on it (especially during the week) .

Its still kinda spotty on things one day you can catch them big time up shallow in the grass and the next its a ghost town there so you go out deeper and get in to them and the next day you go deep and nothing so you check the grass and they are there waiting to try to rip your arm off..

Had Tommy and John with me today from 4x4 Bass Jigs and it was a even mix today we caught a few in the grass then got a few out deep on a Proto Type Bait that I think we need to call it the Shank but we will see. We did get a few on the Head Hunter as well.. Its alway fun to fish with these two and you never know what Tommy has Dreamed up to try out here. If you have not tried a 4x4 Jig you need to. These Jigs have a real hook in them not one of those little ones that get bent out by the big uns that live in Guntersville,
Stop in Guntersville Tackle and check them out.

Tommy & John

Check out Lee's Toad! He joined me on Tuesday for a morning trip. Awesome dude that is a amazing Tattoo Artist.

Lee With His 1st Bass of the day.

When out deep 12-15ft is where most of the bass are and if you can find grass your gonna have a lot better time catching. While boats are scanning trying to finds schools of bass you need to fish grass edges that are extremely close to the main river this is where you'll find the big bass.

When cranking these ledges with grass you need to get the right distance so when you start reel the Little John DD its coming just in front of the grass and its gonna hit the ledge and thats when you'll get your strike. Best Place to make this happen is Up River of Mill Creek on Pine Island Ledge .

The Pics with the Crankbait with the bass is the same bass just different angles its a true Gville Donkey and I caught all the action on video.

Guntersville is fishing small so far this week.
Water temp 75 and Clear like 7 feet of visibility clear

Come and Get you some Bass Palm (its like bass thumb but only better)

Guntersville May 3rd

This Week has been far from normal, you would of thought it was March with the weather. And the fishing was about par for this year you'll have a couple outstanding days then you'll have not so good days!

The grass is growing nicely with these sunny days and warming temps I've been able to throw a Bronzeye frog in the topped out grass and get a few to commit to it no real size but nothings better then a frog explosion,  the best way I caught this week was on a SPRO Little John XL on the outside grass lines on 16lb test SUNLINE Sniper FC.
This is just a screen shot of SPRO.com  Nasty Shad has been the one I've been using.

I took this pic leaving the ramp the other day and as you can see its way cool.
He has the best fisherman on the lake coaching him.

Sometime we still have to slow down to get a bite and we would depend on NetBait to put some fish in the boat C-Mac's and Mad Pacas are pretty hot in the grass on points and humps with new grass growth, fish the 5ft area of the grass that seems to be the deal.

This Couple did a two day trip with us one day of Crappie Fishing and the other Bass Fishing.

We had a great time even if the cold cut it short on us.
